In Turkey, in the city of Eskişehir and the Günyüzü province, at the village of Atlas, we produce black and red grapes in our organically certified vineyard.
It is known that the Phyrigians began to inhabit the highlands between Afyon and Eskişehir, in forms of simple villages towards the 11th century B.C. These lands are now known as the Phrigian valley to this day.
the skirts of the 1819 m Arayit mountain, which is located near the border of Eskişehir has been home to the phyrigian civilisation including the Greek philosopher Strabon and the peace loving Roman historian Arrianus. The phyrigians, who would be considered to be a very happy population back in the day, grew grapes in the area in which the climate and water resources were ideal for the agriculture of the grape. Consequently, this area is now the location in which the Atlas Village resides.
Today, we are experiencing the elation of presenting to the world the Atlas Karası black grape whose cultural heritage and legacy spans from the ages to the present and while doing so, remaining loyal to the principles of organic agriculture.
